Study Objectives / Outcomes
This protocol replaces protocol BS99-220, approved under an administrative review, to continue research into the role that genetics play in the etiology of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Drs. Sara Strom and Michael Keating have been collaborating since 1999 on a study of familial aggregation and anticipation in CLL patients. We propose to continue giving self-report questionnaires to UTMDACC CLL patients to collect demographic, epidemiologic and family history information, and to use this information to analyze familial aggregation and anticipation in CLL patients. The family history information will also be used to help identify CLL families eligible to be recruited for protocol ID03-0117, Genetic Study of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Familes.
