Description/
Intervention:		The goal of this psychosocial and clinical research study is to collect data on
patients with a kidney tumor that has not spread beyond the kidney and who are
only receiving observation for the tumor. Researchers want to see how slowly
these tumors grow over time and to find out how this affects your quality of
life.

Study Objectives / Outcomes
Primary Objective:
1.To create a registry of patients undergoing watchful waiting of a renal tumor in order to prospectively analyze tumor characteristics.

Secondary Objective:
1.To assess psychosocial factors and quality of life (QOL) in the first 100 patients.

Enrollment Eligibility

Inclusion Criteria:1) Any M. D. Anderson Cancer Center patient undergoing watchful waiting of a localized renal tumor

2) Age greater than 18 years

3) Patients with renal tumors consistent with or suspicious for clinical T1-T2 N0 M0 renal cell carcinoma
Exclusion Criteria:1) Non-English speaking subjects may be consented for the registry (Objective 1) but will be opted out of Objective 2

2) No previous biologic therapy, immunotherapy, or chemotherapy for renal cell cancer

3) No previous surgery for renal cell cancer except for the contralateral kidney
