Description/
Intervention:
The goal of this research study is to learn the best way to provide information
about pancreatic cancer and genetics to individuals and families with a history
of pancreas cancer. This study will also try to learn how people use the
information from their cancer genetics risk assessment to make health
decisions.
.
Study Objectives / Outcomes
This is a descriptive study, and specific hypotheses are not being tested. Here we summarize our objectives and specific aims.

Objective 1: Assess the level of interest in genetic services among families at risk for pancreas cancer.
Specific aim 1: Describe motivators and barriers for seeking genetic services.
Specific aim 2: Identify factors, including demographics, knowledge, anxiety, depression, and risk perception, which may predict interest in genetic services.

Objective 2: Evaluate effect of genetic evaluations for familial pancreas cancer on psychological wellbeing, family communication, and behavioral outcomes.
Specific aim 1: Describe the overall satisfaction with genetic counseling sessions and identify the components of the session participants found most useful.
Specific aim 2: Describe patterns of sharing information from genetics evaluation with family members.
Specific aim 3: Describe uptake of genetic testing, DNA banking, participation in other research trials, and intent to have cancer screening following a genetics evaluation for familial pancreas cancer.
