Description/
Intervention:
The goal of this clinical research study is to find out if taking Vitamin E
and/or selenium can help to prevent cataracts and AMD.

Study Objectives / Outcomes
To assess the effect of selenium and vitamin E alone and in combination on the clinical incidence of prostate cancer. Secondary objectives - effects on incidence of lung, colorectal and all cancers.

Inclusion Criteria:
1) Men age > 55, (> 50 if African American), have a total PSA < 4.0, a digital rectal examination not suspicious for prostate cancer in the judgement of the examiner, and capable of reasonably normal activity.
Exclusion Criteria:
1) Men previously diagnosed with prostate cancer or high grade PIN, prior history of other cancers other than basal or squamous cell skin cancer wtihin the past 5 years, current anticoagulation therapy, or uncontrolled hypertension are ineligible.
